6th grade Bible syllabus

Description: This course includes the teachings of Ester, Elijah, Elisha, Ezra, and the Parables of Jesus. Classroom Bibles will be available for student to use in the classroom. Along with these Biblical studies, students will be expected to learn the books of the bible and be responsible for memorizing scripture.
Students will study and respond to maps, map narratives, and a variety of pictorial information. Students will be expected to respond to various writing prompts as well as completing a finished product for their Writing across the Curriculum notebook. Quizzes and tests will be given throughout the units of study. Note-taking will be an active part of instruction. Students are encouraged to respond orally to material covered and seek further help in understanding the teaching of God’s Word.
Textbook: A Beka Books---------Pensacola Christian College ---- 2004
Materials: Paper, pencils, colored pencils or markers, notebook (or trapper keeper)
Objectives: The goal of the Bible class is that students will come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and learn to love their Lord and obey His Word. The teachings of the Bible reinforces character and Christian living throughout the day. Teaching the Word of God will provide the receptive hearer with a firm foundation for life and a shield against error.
Class Rules: Be prompt, prepared, reliable, responsible, and respectful.
Remain in seat until class is dismissed.
Display an attitude that would be pleasing to everyone.
Let Christian behavior be reflected in our words and actions.
Grading: Homework, participation, group activities, and writing assignments-----50%
